It is home to a shopping centre, cinema, museum, restaurants and bars... the new heart of Strasbourg offers you all of the comforts and commodities you could need during your stay - and all less than one kilometre from the harbour. The old town centre of Strasbourg is located 1.900m from the harbor, with its thousand-year old cathedral, its pedestrian districts, and its infamous winstub bars where you can try a tarte flambée washed down with a glass of Alsatian wine. Take a walk along the banks of the Ill, stop off on a terrace and then take a trip by bike along one of the many cycling routes that will take you to the leisure harbour in less than 10 minutes. Just a few steps away from the harbour you can relax in the city’s green lung: the “Parc de la citadelle”. This amply-sized park of 11 hectares offers playgrounds for children, basketball courts and petanque areas and sporting equipment, or you can just take a stroll along the river banks and explore the Vauban fortifications from 1681. The independent harbour’s catchement area spans around 100km, from Lauterbourg to Marckolsheim. The Marina is linked to the Marne to Rhine canal and also the Rhône to Rhine canal, which guarantee you easy connections for your water-bound travel. |
